Friends of Forman will host an inspirational journey that will follow the footsteps of the Apostles John and Paul. As pilgrims, we will visit important, well-preserved sites of the New Testament in Turkey and Greece. They will be the settings as we explore the arrival of Christianity and Islam into some of the most significant cities of the Roman Empire.
Our 13-day tour will commence on October 19 in Istanbul, Turkey. Personable, knowledgeable guides will be with us to explain the historical backgrounds of these lands that served as the seat of power for emperors and sultans for thousands of years. We will tour in modern motor coaches, planes, and a cruise ship while enjoying charming and historic accommodations - some with astounding views near the ancient sites. After visiting one of the most breathtaking ruins of the ancient world in Ephesus, we will board our cruise ship, crossing the Mediterranean for the Island of Patmos, where John was exiled and received the Revelation. Next, we sail to Santorini and the isle of Crete. Finally, we reach the Greek mainland and visit the great cities where Paul visited and preached: Athens, Corinth, Thessaloniki, and Philippi. We will also see the incredible Greek Orthodox monasteries of Meteora – a stunning world heritage site.
Friends of Forman invites you to join others who want to know more about the roots of faith in this region, and we will learn together in talks and devotions I’ll conduct with Dr. Tebbe. Friendships will form around shared meals and educational experiences. We encourage you to invite like-minded friends to travel with us for this extraordinary journey that is filling up quickly.
